The archives unleashed.

We moved to SF, unpacked our boxes, and found over 200 hours of rare, live, and classic recordings. Rather than try to filter it somehow we're just going to press it in batches from time to time. Combine that with a steady flow of new stuff and you've got an open-ended, free-form alternative to the boxy old label comp.

We set it off with two:

Comp #1: Enclosed : Enclosed is a really remarkable experimental compilation. Not only are many of the works world premieres, they're all made by a group of music lovers who gather to do this once a year, and who probably number less than 40 or so. The analog mastering brings out the warmth and beauty that we've come to love about seeing this music performed in intimate spaces.

Comp #2: Rough and Tumble: Catchy, almost hi-fi sounding hits from Human Ear's polymorphous cast. This comp includes a love triangle between Julia Holter, Nite Jewel and Jason Grier (with song collabs representing each corner.) It sports new tracks by Stellar OM Source and Maria Minerva, while vintage rarities by Black Powder, Ariel Pink bring it full circle.

As of this writing, "Enclosed" is in manufacturing, and "Rough and Tumble" is in mastering. They should both be dropping around late July or August.
