A new career in a new town...

We've relocated to the north, with a renewed sense of mission and play.

This year we premiere the Dog Star Archive, recordings of new and rare experimental concerts curated by Michael Pisaro.

Also, since we haven't had a comp in a while, we're coming out with two. The first samples the amazing, aforementioned Dog Star Archive. And pretty much at the same time, we're pressing a pop comp with collabs between Julia Holter and Nite Jewel, new tracks by Stellar OM Source and Maria Minerva, and a whole bunch of rarities.

In the studio we've got Jason Grier and Michael Pisaro working on groundbreaking recordings. (...As we eagerly await board member Nite Jewel's stunning new studio tracks.)

To top it off we're treating our new town to two great weekends in October, hosting living legends Linda Perhacs and Jeff Phelps at the San Francisco Art Institute.

Last but not least, Human Ear welcomes anarcho-syndicalist chanteuse Jean Yaste to direct our new HQ in the sunny Mission. Jean is a San Francisco veteran organizer who's worked with Human Ear on festivals and concerts since 2008. She brings a wealth of know-how and local connections on both the business and art sides of life.
