Great jams with total strangers.

Hosted in a storefront during the annual Long Beach Soundwalk festival, Human Genius invites passers-by to come in, take up an instrument, and record ten to twenty minute-long brainstorms.

The results are mixed, mastered and burned to CD on the spot. While all that techie stuff goes on, people create their own album sleeves at our cover-art making station. Human Ear stocks the space with guitars, keyboards, amps, drums and mics, and enough art supplies to last the whole day.

This is by far far one of our most fun and rewarding projects. The results are often surprising and inspirational. The first Human Genius project went for over 10 hours and produced 10 CD's complete with cover art.

Human Genius has been made possible by generous donations of space, time and energy by Flood, and Long Beach's Catalyst Community. It is organized by John Hansel and Jason Grier.
